Twisting Light

LightingTwister by Austin Bakker Hello, I'm a 17 year old student studying, industrial product design, trying to improve my solid work/cad skills thought GrabCAD. At our school we have a 3D printer and i got to see how it worked in action, and used that knowledge to make this model. I tried to make it simple but elegant. It will be able to be printed with a 3D printer with minimal to no 3D printed supports, which lets you print faster and use less materiaal. you could place a led lamp inside of it or a standard light bulk and attach it to the ceiling. and / or turn it around and it would be stable enough to place on a desk. This design is not to crazy with bizar shapes which allow the 3D printer to let i work easier. I have made some different concept to how i see the product. If you want to go the extra step with customization you can make the customer chose different colors, the twist could be green and the other one could be blue and you can mix match colors so you can customize you lamp that would make this s special product, I have never seen a lamp you can fully customize with each part. There are 2 main parts that are needed to be printed the first one is the base. It holds the electric wires and is attached to the ceiling or to a desk. The second part is were the light will come from. This is a different part so you are able to detach it in case you want a different color light or it needs replacing. As now with the models i uploaded there are those 2 you are able to make them different colors with almost no effort. If you have a multi-colored printer this will make everything easier but just in case you can also give it different colors if you only have a single colored printer. I personnel really like look of it. It remind me of how waves move, DNA and vines growing around a tree. It reminds me you just have to ride the waves, and go forward.
