Here is the design i am working for a few weeks now. The basic principles are: -Normal condition for twistlock is locked. -Helicoidal shape of locking cones permit to insert twistlock in container corner. -Once inserted in container corner twistlock is locked by spring (upper locking cone and lower locking cone). -The lower locking cone is unlocked by mean of lower cone helicoidal shape, when pulling on the twistlock -To prevent accidental lower cone unlocking base plates(connected to lower cone) of two twistlock are connected by wire rope. -The upper cone is unlocked by the red handle on the twistlock side. This operation is made automatic with use of "unlocking system" based on trailer chassis -One person can insert twistlocks in "unlocking system" corners before the crane lower the container on this "unlocking system" chassis to permit the automatic locking of twistlocks to container corner. Because normally there is no rolling of container when crane is operated all lower cones will be unlocked automatically from "unlocking system" corners. -One person can remove twistlock from "unlocking system" corners after the crane lowered the container on the "unlocking system" chassis and unlocked the upper twistlock cone by sliding the red handle on the "unlocking system" wedge. -The "unlocking system" wedge is moved in the red arrow direction for unlocking position and in opposite for locking -Because there is no need of stevedores or any person to be near suspended container when twistlocks locking\unlocking there is no accident possible Twistlock weight is ~9 kg Maximum vertical load - 500 kN Maximum racking load - 300kN
