Two Windowed Ornaments

Here are two roughly spherical ornaments with windows so that the interior is visible. Both interiors show outlines of a cat; one a single image, the second three small cat images at the corners of an equilateral triangle.

The ornaments are related in that both are derived from the same polylhedron - a Truncated Rhombicosidodecahedron - http://dmccooey.com/polyhedra/CanonicalTruncatedRhombicosidodecahedron.html - from the visual polyhedra web site - http://dmccooey.com/polyhedra/ . Faces that occur in one ornament are missing from the second and vice versa.


The polyhedron has, as faces, 12 regular decagons, 30 octagons, 20 regular hexagons, and 60 isosceles trapezoids. In the first ornament the decagonal and hexagonal faces were left blank; in the second the octagonal faces were omitted. Windows were created by the omission of additional faces. The remaining faces were decorated with stars, snowflakes, and a cat image.
