I volunteer in a local high School classroom (Mechatronics) a couple of days a week. We had six 3D printers in the classroom before the printing and building of this one. We wanted to prove to the students, our future engineers, that you can indeed build a good 3D printer for less than $200. All the rest of our classroom printers had cost $350 dollars or more. The U-conduit printer by iquizzle was a very good candidate. The construction of the printer provided a very stable printer due to the O-ring design, which also made the frame scalable in size. The H-bot style also presented another form of 3D printer style for the students to experience. Our printer size was determined by the length of the 8mm rods we had available to us. The print area is: X 229 mm, Y 229 mm, Z 203 mm (9 inch x 9 inch x 8 inch).
