The Table Vise is a modified version of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4188958. The original design was supposed to be used for preparing skis. We widened and stiffened a few areas, to turn it into a general purpose vise that clamps to the top of a table. We added a small groove that could grip a circuit board or other thin shape. It appears to be a robust design that could be modified further for other shapes for the jaws, or deep clamping area.
The original design used metric bolts, which is a great idea, except larger bolt sizes are hard to source locally. We switched the design to use inch sized (imperial) hardware.
We also changed how the nuts and bolts are used. With our design the head of the bolt is captured in a hexagonal counterbore inside the handle. This made sense to us, and the both the original photos and description didn't explain how it was supposed to work.
Two lock nuts are used to capture the bolts in a certain location.
