Underrun Challenge

I am a High School student at Snohomish High in Snohomish, Washington. Merely doing this project in my spare time, and teaching myself how to run simulaton, and learning collision and physical patterns of impacts to learn what would make this better. I went through countless designs and finally ended with this one. I was corrected, it weighs 535 pounds, which doesnt seem right at all but oh well In a collision it will buckle and push downwards, bending the up A-Arms, and retaining its strength while holding the force of the collision from the object behind and lessening in the overall damage to both the to object/car and the car its self, although this creates another situation in itself that causes the underrun bumper to need a new replacement, they are fairly inexpensive to make, and fairly simple, no contours, just square piping at various angles and dimensions.
