Universal Joint

A universal joint, also known as a U-joint or universal coupling, is a mechanical device used to connect two shafts at an angle to each other, allowing for the transmission of rotary motion. It consists of a pair of hinges located close together, oriented at 90 degrees to each other, connected by a cross shaft. This design enables the joint to accommodate changes in the angle between the connected shafts, allowing for smooth transmission of torque and rotational power even when the shafts are not in a straight line.
