A number of medical devices require a light source to function. These devices include and are not limited to otoscopes, endoscopes, both rigid and flexible. In addition a head mounted light is required to illuminate the oral cavity for both diagnostic and interventional procedures, for example quinsy diagnosis and drainage.
Light sources come in a variety of forms, cost, quality and complexity vary immensely. With respect to endoscope light sources, these consist of either large, heavy and bulky boxes to small pocket sized devices which regretfully often go missing and are costly. As a result, performing examinations with devices that require a source of light can be challenging, especially when out of hours.
This print will allow the production of a simple cost effective versatile light coupling device, which can be used on a multitude of medical devices to provide a source of illumination when conventional medical light sources are not readily available. Should be printed in flex
