USB Bench Load

A 22 ohm, 1 watt, 1% resistor connected to a USB C jack.

I made this for various bench testing operations. It's handy for discharging a power bank at a reasonable current for instance. At a nominal 5 V, the current should be around 230 mA. The power is a bit over the 1 W rating of the resistor, however if the resistor leads are formed as shown in the images the resistor stands about 1/2" above the board and is well ventilated; testing showed a steady state temperature of around 75 degrees C. The resistor should stand that temperature indefinitely but if you touch it you'll regret it quickly.

This is an easy print in PLA. There are counterbores on the underside of the screw holes for M3 brass threaded inserts. The inserts draw against a shoulder in the hole. There is a shallow pocket on the top face of the tile to provide clearance for the soldered resistor leads and another to provide a generous clearance around the USB-C connector.
