A newer version of this concept SNAPON WITH SUGRU PROSTHETIC ARM ADAPTOR was entered separately. I left this for history and also it is possible polymorph may be better for some people or situations. The pupose of this design concept is to provide a method of making specialized budget prosthetics that can be easily put on and taken off by the user. Material would likely be nylon. The basic idea is to have the male portion of the prosthesis screwed into the arm end and locked down with the lock nut. After that individual utensils are made with a female portion that magnetically attaches to the male portion. Some of these such as the cup might be printed however; if the morph option; see link below---- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhVuc6RNyaw (this plastic is shaped by hand after heating to 160 degrees F. A negative about using it is that it probably would not stand up to a dishwasher; however it is great stuff if kept out of high heat. I do plan for the non morf components to be dishwasher safe; the designs are not complete yet. ) if the morf option is used most anything from spoons to screw drivers might be attached. If the user has one good hand he might keep attachments in a bin; if not the idea is to make a board with areas the attachments would fit in and to remove, the cup for instance, it would be placed in a hole in the board and the male portion pulled out. To put it back on the male portion is inserted into the female and the attached assembly lifted out.
