Slocum Glider Field Tools. Makita (and others? ) battery powered vacuum pump transport plug.
these pumps make ideal field vacuum pumps. problem is if they are inverted during transit the oil leaks out.
This transport plug solves that by completely blanking off the vent hole .
CAUTION DO NOT OPERATE THE PUMP WITH THE TRAVEL PLUG INSTALLED . pressure will build up in the pump housing and something will give ( perhaps explosively)
print at high quality (o.12mm layers) with support TURNED OFF . a slightly lower print temp 200c for pla may improve the viscosity to prevent over hung areas slumping worked fine for me . (ender 3 , E-sum pla+ , 0.4mm nozzle)
the 5Ah 18V battery with these makes an ideal universal field power source. with a suitable adaptor ( i will add soon ) it can run the freewave charge your laptop and phone. and at 90Wh they come in under the 100Wh limit for air transport and airport screening staff are very familiar with them so you will have no problem
