At work, I needed a way to hold down slightly warped wood to remain flat on the Epilog Fusion M2. On our older machines the vector cutting honeycomb is steel, so we can use magnets to hold slightly warped wood flat. I tried a variety of different things, and these so far have been the winner.
These little keys I designed fit in diagonally in the grid and then can be turned and locked into place to hold down material.
Occasionally they get cut through. but, they are so small, and I can cut them out of scrap, I don't mind if they are Semi-disposable. They last longer and work better than tape or something else that is disposable.
The "wings" can be longer or shorter, depending on your preference. I've found a mix of the two is useful, if the material doesn't quite fit perfectly between two openings on the grid.
Please let me know what you think, and post some photos if you make or improve on it!
These are made out of 3mm birch plywood, and There IS a possibility of sligh
