Vending Ships

In our Multimedia class we were given a challenge to make 3D printed toys that would fit in a vending machine capsule. The purpose of the project was to learn about 3D modeling and 3D printing and share this with our school and beyond. Each student was responsible for creating 5 designs, and learned about how to design models that don’t need support material or adhesion.

My design series is called “Vending Ships”. The designs were made with tinkercad, I used my own previous assignments as inspiration. Some challenges were creating the models to size, the detail of the model and things such as circle complexity. The things I most like about the models are the simplicity and the common theme and shape of the models.


The first model is a simple spaceship keychain accessory, pointing with gravity in mind.

The second model is a sideways spaceship accessory, going with gravity to blast off.
