Ventilator

Over four weeks, a team of 9 people from around the globe worked together to design a ventilator that is capable of the same applications a hospital-approved ventilator does. This includes Continuous Mandatory Ventilation/Assist Control (CMV/AC) mode, Volume Control (VC-CMV) mode, Pressure Control (PC-CMV) mode, Pressure Support (PS) mode, and Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation (SIMV) mode. These modes are obtainable by incorporating components such as a PEEP valve, FiO2 sensor, needle valves, proportional valves, flow sensors, and more. We contacted numerous manufacturers and retailers determining which parts would be most practical and affordable to obtain while verifying they meet the stringent requirements such as tidal volume and Inspiratory to Expiratory Time (I/E).
