We started this project a few months ago and though many iterations have developed a functional, easy to use, and animal resistant (perhaps not squirrels) hydroponic system. All of the components are 3D printed, except for the pump, tubing, and reservoir.
One of the advantages of 3D printing most of the parts of this system is that it is far less expensive than a commercial hydroponics system and having the ability to easily and quickly replace components if they fail.
As you can see by the pictures, plants flourish in this system. We planted several basil plants a few weeks ago, and have already been able to make pesto four times for a family of four with only three basil plants! It is also important to note that we have been using General Hydroponics nutrients (Flora series) to feed the plants.
We have enjoyed using this system, and I bet you will too!
Also, the Main Pot file is a remix of parallelgoods's Self Watering Pot. You can find that file here: https://www.th
