Vex V5 Optical Sensor Case

The model is custom made to create a bracket for the VEX V5 Optical Sensor. The model encases the sensor and allows the user to insert either a key (referenced file included, scaled to 192.25%) or a credit card (referenced file included, customized for my classroom). Once inserted, the sensor will have an easier time reading the color input of the key/card, and will progress through the program commands. This model is an original idea I designed, modeled, and printed when trying to come up with a creative way to get my students involved with PLTW Principles of Engineering project called 2.2.3 Moving with Color. I veered away from the step-by-step lesson plan and opted to let students expand the project by letting them create various builds. The overall theme: Students create a VEX build where color sensors have at least 3 different and independent outputs. Some examples are Elevator (floors), Vending Machine (snack/drink/candy), and even an Emotional Robot! Very proud of the progress s
