VibraSnake – Printer Vibration Snake

I originally designed this spring snake as a fun toy for my cat. During the first print test, I discovered that the model could not stand steadily on a flat surface, so I redesigned the weight distribution to improve its balance. The final version uses 100% infill in one section and 1% infill in another, creating a unique weighted balance that gives the model its playful motion. This balancing feature allows the snake to jiggle continuously when placed on top of a running 3D printer, making it a fun 3D printer companion as well as a cat toy. The left snake shown in the picture was printed in Bambu Lab Basic PLA at a 0.12 mm layer height and hand-painted with acrylic paints. The right snake was printed in Bambu Lab Translucent PETG, also at a 0.12 mm layer height. Recommended Print Settings Material: Translucent PLA or PETG is recommended if you plan to use it as a cat toy. My cat especially enjoys models printed with translucent filament. Standard PLA and PETG also work well for this model. Layer Height: 0.12 mm for maximum detail. Supports: Tree supports, build plate only. Top Z Distance: 0.29 mm (the ideal value may vary slightly depending on your printer and filament). Base Pattern: Honeycomb. Download and print the included 3MF file without changing the settings for the best result. Assembly & Post-Processing Use flush cutter to carefully remove the support material from the bottom of the body.
