My wonderful mesh for a Vindrizi, from Babylon 5.
The Vindrizi are an artificial arthropoid symbiotic species created about 500 000 years ago to record galactic history. They featured in the episode Exogenesis in season three. A Vindrizi can attach itself to the spinal cord of any willing sentient humanoid host.
Mongoose book "Darkness and Light" outlines that the species was created by an unnamed Middleborn scholarly race at the time of the Yithri Plague 550 000 years ago. The creators of the Vindrizi then went into suspended animation. Further details on the Vindrizi in book "The Point of No Return". Further mentions in books "Guide to the Station".
