Viny Siding Cover Caps

I noticed that the vinyl siding corner posts on the corners of my house were open on the bottom. The 2nd floor of the front of my house is also cantilevered over the first floor, and the open corner posts there were very noticeable from the ground (2nd pic). It looked ugly and unfinished. It's also an easy access point for rodents and insects to find their way into your home.I searched all of the big-box hardware stores and online for something commercially available, but could not find anything that suited my needs, so I designed something. Project DetailsThere are 3 types of corner caps in this project. The small size for legacy older corner posts which are 76.2 mm wide (3 in.). The larger size is for the newer side corner posts which are 95.25 mm wide (3.75 in). And finally, a variant of the small cap with a sill plate on the bottom (4th pic). The sill plate provides extra protection in case the corner post wasn't installed flat against your house and the opening is larger,
