Virtuti Militari

The Virtuti Militari is Poland's highest military decoration for valor in the face of the enemy. Established in 1792 by King Stanisław August Poniatowski, it is one of the oldest military awards in the world still in use. The medal is awarded to soldiers and military units for acts of extraordinary bravery and heroism during combat.
