This is another case in point of why 3D printers are not just toys but rather tools.
This is a replica of my quick release mount for my Vivitar VPT-240 tripod. It's quite old so parts are expensive if not impossible to find. Hopefully this can help someone else. I'm using a 1/4"-20 3/4" long screw instead of the typical 1/4"-20 1/2" long one. I used a nut to replace the function of a washer as the screw is too long. My local hardware store was out of 1/2" screws. Nevertheless, it worked.
I was thinking of gluing a square sheet of cork to the surface to make the surface more suitable to receive a camera but it works just fine without it. It warped ever so slightly on one corner but it doesn't affect function.
Enjoy.
