Vortex Ashtray

This project unveils a radical transformation of Carina Kalweit’s original ashtray design, which primarily consisted of basic, primitive shapes. Utilizing advanced 3D modeling tools in Rhino 8, the redesign dramatically altered the initial proportions, drawing the process into a complexity as captivating as a black hole. The result is an ashtray that has morphed into a more abstract entity, with each surface intricately detailed and significantly more complex.

The creative journey involved deconstructing the original simplistic form to embrace modern aesthetics and sophisticated design principles. The final product, while maintaining the practical aspects of the original, presents a dynamic and visually striking form that resembles a vortex or a view into the universe.
