An original project made as Dynamic Simulation with Autodesk Inventor 2014. The animation and renderings were made using the Inventor Studio module. Here you can recognize a body (Main Body) and two arms (Side Blocks) connected by a hollow axle. The imposed restriction is the symmetry plane coincidence of the two arms on the axle. The action begins with the slanting of the Rocker Plate at an angle of only 3.2°. This makes the Main Body incline as well, while the arms remain vertical. Since the arms are a bit longer than the distance between the axle and any of the three bottom faces of the Main Body when the stable inclined position is reached the arms make the mobile assembly descend on the Rocker Plate. The mutual movements of the Main Body and Side Blocks make the global descending movement continue till the Rocker Plate begins reverting its slanting. Just watch the Video to see how natural is the behavior of the mobile parts... The simulation is based on the idea presented in this clip: https://youtu.be/sHVF0xLCmyI, with the difference that my model is symmetrical, allowing me to go back. And this was not an ordinary job... If you use Inventor, you have to download all the files in a single directory, then open the .iam file with Inventor 2014, 2015..., enter Environments/Inventor Studio and change all the settings you want for obtaining a new animation. Enjoy!
