Wanhao i3 Spool Mount

This top-mount filament spool holder fits reels up to 3kg. It works with the Wanhao Duplicator i3 & clones where the top member is an L-shaped piece of steel (about 50mm deep and 50mm high). Anything, from a threaded rod (from M8), timber dowel, or PVC pipe up to 28mm diameter (a bit over an inch) will work as axle.

The original mount only fits a single 1kg spool. This mount lets you fit a spare reel or a 3kg one. The brackets are easily repositioned from the front and don’t interfere with the existing mounting hardware or wiring.

Print one each of the left-hand side (LHS) and right-hand side (RHS) brackets, and two of the (identical) latches. Latches are a bit wider than the mounts and have lead-ins for the reel. Suggest a minimum of three outlines and top/bottom surfaces with 0.4mm nozzle.

You’ll need four each M3x12 to 20mm long screws, washers, and nuts.
