Mechanical design is not just about creating 3D models on software—it’s a journey that combines creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of both manufacturing and functionality. Recently, I designed the Wave Table using SOLIDWORKS. The idea was to merge artistic aesthetics with engineering principles to create a piece of furniture that is not only functional but also reflects innovation and elegance. 🌀 The design was built around twisted geometries, giving a sense of motion and fluidity, while ensuring stability and structural strength. 🎯 As a Mechanical Design Instructor, I always emphasize to my students that design is more than just dimensions and sketches. It’s about: Thinking about Manufacturability—how the product can actually be built. Blending Engineering + Art to create products that inspire. Using tools like Rendering to visualize concepts realistically and communicate ideas to clients and investors. This experience reinforces the idea that Mechanical Design opens endless opportunities for engineers who want to grow, innovate, and enter the creative industries. 👂 I’d love to hear your thoughts: How do you see the role of mechanical design in bridging creativity with industrial reality?
