For this design I have incorporated a small gear motor and it's fixed in place by 2 1.6mm screws. This I have found to be a great way of attaching these instead of using the brackets you normally see. The Conrod is held in place with a 3mm bolt and a small bearing having OD of 10mm.

The main wheel could possibly benefit from some weight offset to counter balance the conrod pivot.

The Whitworth quick return mechanism converts rotary motion into reciprocating motion, but unlike the crank and slider, the forward reciprocating motion is slower rate than the return stroke. This is why it is called quick return mechanism.
