These needles help students bind books of their own creation and they don't cost the teacher an arm and a leg. There are a number of stitches they can do using any number of materials. These needles connect Making to Literacy or any other subject through note-taking, journaling, publishing, reflecting, and sharing learning. I've had my students use sketch-noting, brainstorming, story telling, and even cut them into creative shapes that can be glued/pocketed into their visual journals to represent any learning.
