Windshield Wiper

Engineered and developed a compact windshield wiper drive mechanism in SolidWorks by integrating a worm–gear reduction system with a crank-linkage assembly to achieve controlled oscillatory motion of the wiper arm. The project emphasizes practical mechanical design methodology used in automotive motion systems, including torque transmission, motion conversion, component synchronization, and space-efficient assembly architecture. The mechanism was designed from the ground up with focus on: • Optimized rotary-to-oscillatory motion conversion • Smooth power transmission through worm and spur gear interaction • Compact gearbox packaging suitable for constrained automotive applications • Realistic linkage motion and angular sweep behavior • Assembly-level integration with motion feasibility considerations
