My mother-in-law had her kitchen done and some new light fittings mounted. The connection wasn't that nice and I offered to design a nice cover.
After a lot of trial and error, including learning OpenSCAD, I came up with this.
You mount the base plate with some screws to the wall. The lamp fitting will fit in the large hole. Make sure you have it printed with good layer adhesion or you will end up with things like on the last photo.
You slide the cover up from below, as you probably don't have room at the top. The cover has a little nudge that rests on the base plate. Be sure to test if it holds.
It isn't smooth or very detailed, but that fits perfectly with the house as it's an old farmhouse. Nothing is smooth or straight.
