Wire lock

This design uses an aluminium 'cage' that is pushed over the tape (on the bar end a plug is inserted first), the cage has two ribs that are an interference fit with the tape, it has a tapered lead in to make fitting easier. Once the cage is in place the wire lock is wound onto the cage, the nominal diameter of the wire lock (coil spring) is approximately the same size as the handle bar, once wound into place it will have a significant tension onto the tape. The wire is .75mm stainless, this could be increased or decreased as required. This design gives a very low profile while still using very few machine setups.
