This is my comic-inspired Wolverine lightbox, designed and built as a custom Christmas gift for my brother-in-law. The project combines a simple, cost-effective electronic setup with a clean visual presentation inspired by classic comic artwork. For illumination, I used inexpensive 5V white LED strips purchased from Amazon. Due to a limited quantity of LED strips on hand, they were mounted on the rear panel of the lightbox rather than around the full internal perimeter. Despite this placement, the light distribution remains even. If preferred, the LED strips can be installed along the inner sides of the lightbox, and the final result should be equally uniform without introducing noticeable dark spots.To ensure reliable and flexible power input, the lightbox incorporates an MP1584 DC–DC step-down (buck) converter, calibrated to output 4.9V.
