Wool Combs - Extra Fine

We were in need of some wool combs for processing, but were loath to pay a large amount for proper ones. Happily, my mother had a set of Valyrie Extra Fine combs, the design of which I studiously pinched to make these.

These use cheap 2.5mm 200mm double point stainless knitting needles, cut in half, to make the tines. They can be found on AliExpress for less than £1 for a set of five. This uses 35 needles in total, so we spent about £7. When cut in half, they'll need deburring, and some fettling of the holes in order to fit. A 2.5mm drill bit came in useful to clean the holes, but if your printer is well dialled in, it might not be necessary.

A wooden handle is what we used (the 3d printed ones broke), 20mm dowel should fit, and then put in a wood screw to hold it in place.

They work well, but as the needles are hollow I don't think they would be quite as strong as solid steel ones (which you can of course make yourself and substitute...we were just lazy).
