I've wanted to build a larger word clock for a while and finally decided to build one that doesn't have to be printed in one piece. To keep it simple I also didn't put in all the letters that are common to many word clocks.
I used a partial strip of WS2812B's (Neopixels, 60 pixels per metre) run by a Wemos D1 as an NTP client. But really once the display face is constructed any number of micro controllers can be used to run the display. Like an Arduino, ESP8266, with RTC, NTP, GPS, you name it.

Dec 15, 2017 - added Arduino sketch for Wemos. Requires a photo resistor to handle auto dimming or you can comment that section of the code out.
Change the sketch for your own time zone rule and NTP time server.
