WormCage v1This model is designed for raising wild silkworm ([Bombyx mandarina](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombyx_mandarina)) larvae. Compared to its domestic sibling, the wild silkworm tends to escape — so this cage aims to: prevent escape, make feeding and cleaning poop easy. To achieve that, the cage is made of multiple layers. Once a layer runs out of food, the larvae move to another layer where I’ve placed fresh leaves. This is a work-in-progress model. It’s discouraged to print this model without modification. See the issues section below. Issues While the bolt is not inserted, the modules easily come apart and may cause decapitation. The left threaded hole is left-handed — guess how I modeled that. The lid window frame doesn’t have proper clearance. If you add or remove layers, you’ll need to extend or shorten the bolts. Assemble The lid has a window area. Put any thin transparent material there and fasten it with M3 screws and nuts. I made the window from a plastic bottle.
