This is a remix of the awesome spool holder made by Vincent Groenhuis, found here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3252111 and here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3338467.
The spring, spring guard and clips are reused from this design and not included here. To complete this design, you need a 100mm diameter spring and spring guard, as well as clips for 8mm axle from his design.
It is intended used with the axle stands found here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3227387, or similar.
The purpose of this spool holder is to be able to use a single setup for more or less any spool (within reasonable limits). It is able to support inner diameters between approx 48mm up to high 50ies, and spool width up to about 100mm. Being able to fine-tune friction is very important in order to avoid under-extrusion and similar issues, while still having just enough for the rewind to work. Rather than making the spool parametric, we've tried to make it universal (more or less). The current d
