Rather than relying on complex effects or techniques, I opted for a very simple, almost monochromatic colour scheme, allowing the miniature itself to blend almost naturally into the basing. The only elements that break up this harmony are the corroded brass of the shield and the rusted blade. I removed most of the sculpted fur and replaced it with “real” hair. For the base, I used not only resin-cast bones but also roots collected from my garden.
