3D Print of Achilles surrounded by death and gods

This 75mm FDM-PLA-printed vignette captures the aftermath of Patroclus’ death, framing the mortal tragedy within the subtle intervention of the gods. Achilles stands directly over his fallen companion, capturing a moment of profound loss before his return to battle. The composition uses vertical layering to show divine influence, with Athena perched as an owl atop a fractured column to symbolize her role as Achilles’ guardian, while Apollo is hidden as a mouse in the dirt below as a nod to his unseen hand in Patroclus’ downfall. I absolutely loved working on this model; during the process, I intentionally tried to break the dynamic a little bit to ground the scene and give the entire composition more depth - perspective and emotional.
