Edit: 3/3/17 So I found the topic where 3DMiniatures talks about adding a strip of Velcro to his extruder plate. I have linked it below and I think it's worth a read.

This is a self cleaning extruder plate for the wanhao i3 and its clones. Having the drive gear clean when using flexible or any filament is good. Mods such as the flexion have a built in system to help keep the drive gear clean. So why not add something like that to an upgrade for flexible filament printing. I talk a bit abo
