My Extruder stopped working on my HICTOP i3. Being as the Stepper drivers are Integrated on the motherboard I decided to use a MKS Gen V1.4 with replaceable stepper drives instead. The mount did not accommodate the MKS Gen V1.4 board so I made an adapter. The standoffs on the adapter required you to tap the holes with an M3 0.5 tap so you can screw down the new board to the adapter once you have mounted it to the fixture mount that came with the printer.
