"Parametric universal spool holder" by rowokii is simple and does the job.
Instead of cylindrical cutouts I designed hyperbolic cutouts with settable asymptotic angle. I did it mainly as an exercise in writing functions in openSCAD (which are very awkwardly implemented in openSCAD).
Number of cutouts, and few other parameters are customizable (as described in the SCAD file).
