If you occasionally knock together a bit of shelving from wood bits, perhaps in a basement, shed or greenhouse, you way want to have some separation between a wooden leg/rail and the possibly-damp floor. These friction-fit ends will help you achieve that.
Best used on softwood (eg fir or spruce) one-by-two inch lumber. Small ribs inside slightly compress the wood for a tight fit. A bit of tapping with a hammer and block of wood will help you remove them if you must. They might be okay on
