2x to 1x Shimano XT Chain Guide

I wanted to convert my 2x Shimano XT Mountain Bike to 1x by removing front derailer. I plan to put a narrow wide chain ring on to keep from dropping chain but I am on fence on going to 32 or 34 tooth so I thought I would start with the stock 32 tooth and this guide to keep the chain on.
