Hoplite of the 4th - 3rd Century BC - Bust - 1/12th Scale

Bust is provided both pre-supported and un-supported in 1/12th scale (150mm). It can be scaled up, but we do not recommend scaling down. Contains 9 parts for printing in resin. Original work sculpted by Paul Deheleanu for Epoch Miniatures. Hoplites of the classical era were citizen soldiers serving their city-state, often farmers and artisans. A city state was known as a polis, and there grew to be over 1,000 of them. Each polis had their own philosophical interests and governed independently. Hoplites served their polis in battle primarily armed with a long spear called a dory in their right hand, and in their left hand the hoplite carried the aspis, a heavy wooden shield. In case their primary weapon was compromised, the hoplite carried a small sword under their left arm, often in a wooden scabbard covered with leather and suspended from the shoulder with a baldric made of either linen or leather.
