This thing is a door handle and latch for 3mm Acrylic doors to flush fit the 2/2X style printers with the metal frame and routed plastic (foamed PVC) panels. This latch attaches to a whole in a lasercut 3mm Acrylic panel (ex: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:991861). And latches the doors securely closed on the 5mm plastic panels.
