This is the ANZ 39 demolition fuse use by pionier soldiers. This version was made to replace the ANZ 29, but both fuses would be used throughout WWII. Similar to the ANZ 29, the ANZ 39 had an immediate ignition, and used primarily for demolition of booby traps.
The head was painted gray to mean that there was no ignition delay.
Typically the head would have left-hand threads, so the user would unscrew the head and then sharply pull the head off the body to ignite.
