I had wanted an adapter to hook my gigantic SCUBA flashlight to, but noticed no one made a socket joint for what I had, or that it was hard to find. Sorry if this isn't the size you need.
It is really hard to get the ball into the adapter straight-on. I always go from the side, as that's more convenient anyway. Once it's in, it can go straight up, or in one of the four directions.
