Bb Card Reader

Submission for the Bb Card reader competition. Intention is to have 3 LEDs mounded under the top clear strip, and 2 under the bottom. *** Notes on LED Operation**** The 3 LEDs illuminate the strip for what ever function it is currently doing: Green: On in basic operation Blue: On and WiFi Operation Red: On but non-operational/error Clear: Off Bottom LED illuminates for the magnetic strip reader or proximity detector: Green: Payment successful Red: Payment unsuccessful Clear: Not currently undertaking an operation. *** Submission was hand rendered, and conceptualized in MOI3d. Once I was happy with the shape, I moved on to ZW3d for Parametric Modelling of the Card reader. Unfortunately I have only very simple methods for rendering. Finished design was exported back into MOI3d for exploded view and orientation for rendering. I tried to take styling from current simple phone designs, and make the components as simple as possible for injection moulding. Total design time for the complete project from start to finish was 10 hours, over the last 24 hours. 69mm x 115mm x 21.9mm Handheld or slide on stand. Switch recessed to stop undesired tampering. I partook in this challenge as a personal time constrained challenge to push myself as a Designer. More detail and better tolerances can be achieved and there are some elements I would change for it to be injection moulded.
