This Bison silhouette was created in response to a request to modify one of my earlier floss organizers. The key feature they wanted was the removal of the holes, leaving behind a clean, iconic bison profile. I’m posting it here to fulfil that request — please enjoy and make it your own.
The bison holds a powerful place in the history of this land. For countless generations, it was central to the cultures, economies, and survival of many Indigenous nations across the Prairies. Early pioneers also relied on the bison as a source of food, materials, and guidance as they learned to live on the plains. Its presence shaped communities, trade routes, and the very identity of the region.
Today, the bison remains a symbol of resilience and heritage. It is proudly featured as the provincial emblem of Manitoba, representing strength, endurance, and the deep connection between people and the land.
