Bracket Mod

3D printing allows the creation of features that would be impossible to make using traditional manufacturing processes. It appears most public submissions thus far have not utilized these advantages, so I attempted modify the bracket using one of the key benefits of additive manufacturing: Internal cavities. While my modified bracket looks very similar to the original, the changes are all internal. I created a series of internal cavities which reduce the volume by nearly 5 cubic inches, a 20% reduction. A section view of the part, as shown in the attached image, reveals the internal cavities. Original Volume: 28.27 cubic inches. Modified Volume: 23.03 cubic inches.
