CORAPOD

CORAPOD is a prototype created by the marine housing collaborative platform. We started out in 2019, creating simple mail-order homes for homeless marine species. Our main goals are to raise awareness and develop nature based solutions to improve the health of urban sea areas. An upscaled version of CORAPOD is currently tested in the inner Oslofjord in Norway: a fjord-ecosystem which is heavily affected by coastal construction, overfishing, ecosystem imbalance, eutrophication, and ocean darkening.

The prototype CORAPOD is highly relevant in light of the UN's decade for marine research and the world's decade for the restoration of ecosystems: among other threats, land use and development erase and destroy vital marine nature in urban sea areas.
